Abstract submission guidelines:

-
Length limit: Abstracts have a 300-word limit, and 3-keyword limit.
-
Lay summary: Please note that, along with your abstract, we will also ask you to submit a 2-3 sentence lay summary of your work.
-
A lay summary is written for members of the public who have no prior experience with a particular subject or field of research, rather than for researchers or professionals. A lay summary uses plain language, avoids using jargon, and clearly defines any technical terms that are used. The lay summary will not count toward the word limit for the abstract.
-
-
Authors vs. presenters: When you submit your abstract, please list all authors who contributed to the work AND indicate who will actually present the work at the conference if the abstract is accepted. Multiple presenters are permitted; please ensure all intended presenters are indicated in the abstract submission form so they are included in the conference program. See FAQ for more information about the differences between an abstract submitter, author, and presenter.
-
Previously-presented or previously-published work: We strongly encourage you not to present work that has been previously published as an article in a peer-reviewed journal. However, you are welcome to present work that has previously been presented at a conference or other professional meeting. If you present original work at the IIDRN Annual Conference, you are also welcome to present that work at other conferences or professional meetings in the future, provided that the other conference/meeting also allows for this.
Presentation types:
-
PAPER: Presenters will have 15 minutes to present their work in an oral/visual format (e.g., using PowerPoint slides). Accepted paper presentations will be grouped into paper sessions by similar topics/themes.
-
POSTER: A poster can be a traditional poster or related mode of visual display of content. Various modes of visual presentation are encouraged that can be displayed on a 4x6 foot (1.2x1.8 meter) poster board.
Important information about registration:
-
Registration for the 2025 conference opens on 24 February 2025.
-
Although you are not required to register for the conference in order to submit an abstract, we strongly encourage you to register before you submit your abstract. Due to limited registration spots, we cannot guarantee that we will still have spots available if you choose to wait to register for the conference until after you are notified of abstract acceptance.
-
Official acceptance of your abstract will only be granted once the designated presenter(s) has registered for the conference. If an abstract is accepted but the presenter(s) has not registered for the conference by the time acceptance notifications are made, you will receive an email indicating that your abstract’s acceptance is only tentative and will not be official until the presenter(s) has registered. If registration is not completed by the deadline given in the notification email, your presentation will NOT be included in the conference program.
